Eighty Eight Backup batteries destroyed at Airport

 At Chennai Airport, Eighty eight batteries that were kept in the store room were destroyed due to fire. The accident occurred when the runway which was closed due to weekly maintenance.

Though the fire was put off with the water sprinklers, the smoke and the acid fumes prevented the fire service men to enter in.A senior officer of airports authority of India said that this was the second incident in the last one year that the back-up batteries were damaged.These back –up batteries that were part of the advanced surface movement and GCS (Guidance control system) were destroyed in the accident.
Let the Airport Authorities of India take an effective step and install smoke, beam detectors to get to know before the fire catches. Let’s have an awareness and suggests friends and relatives to install fire safety and security systems at your office or industries.
